The Artisans
Antonia
Antonia is 56 years old and has been part of OMM for the past seven years. She was recently baptized and is married to her husband, who has been her life partner for 32 years. Together they have built a beautiful family with four children, six grandchildren, and one great-granddaughter; three of her grandchildren are currently attending Kathy Beth Carter School. During this time, Antonia has significantly improved her sewing skills, which has allowed her to develop new designs and begin working with leather as well.
Antonia shares that being part of OMM has been a life-changing experience, as it has shown her that she is capable of accomplishing things she never imagined. She considers OMM to be a true blessing in her life and expresses her heartfelt gratitude for the opportunity, along with her prayer that God will continue to bless everyone involved in this mission.
Rosi
Rosi is 29 years old and the mother of two children: a six-year-old daughter who attends Kathy Beth Carter School and a one-year-old son. She is currently in the third year of her second university degree, now studying English Language at the local university. Her dream is to one day have her own business.
Rosi loves being part of OMM because it gives her the opportunity to continually learn new things and grow both personally and professionally. Above all, she values knowing that through her work she is able to contribute in a small way to helping others. She believes that when we live to serve, the rewards come from God.
Sue
Sue is a local artisan and shop owner, who has recently partnered with One Mission Mercantile. She is a mother of 2 daughters, ages 10 and 14. Sue is originally from Honduras and moved to Nicaragua in 2017. Sue shares that her greatest source of motivation and inspiration has always been her mother. She has a strong passion for business, and her journey into craftsmanship and jewelry-making began during the COVID-19 pandemic. Her local store was created from a genuine desire to support women artisans. Her goal has been to provide a space where they can sell their products at fair prices and gain recognition for their work.
You can see why Sue is the perfect partnership for OMM. Her beautiful, hand-crafted jewelry is now available in the OMM showroom and she is currently selling our products in the marketplace.
Sue has expressed deep gratitude and happiness for being part of OMM, as it aligns perfectly with her vision of empowering women artisans and helping expand their products to a wider audience.
We at OMM, feel blessed by Sue's partnership. Rosie is currently on mission to look for more local artisans to partner with.
